Re: Financial Statements for FS

Good job SimpleFarmer! I was hoping someone was working a better work around for FS' clunky financials. I tried before, but it only amounted to a checkbook ledger with a running balance, difficult to maintain with ghostly property income, labor and others. I was hoping GIANTS would do an update, mor...

Re: New Brand & Machines: Free Content Update #3 Now Available - Download Patch 1.4!

Giants on Twitter: We have identified the cause of an issue with scriptmods in Patch 1.4 and will deploy a hotfix as quickly as possible. Thanks. I look forward to it. Slowed my computer big time. Tried several things to dumb down the graphics, but still to slow. iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), 3.5 GHz ...

Re: [FS17] Bug Collection Thread (Version 1.3 and up)

Hello. Not sure if you want to deal with crash reports. I have logged many, many hours in the game without any crashes until just now. I was mowing on Field 14 and had just turned control over to a hire. There were no objects nearby. I had just let a hire start mowing and took back control momentari...

Re: [FS17] Bug Collection Thread (Version 1.3 and up)

Thanks for the feedback. Now that I've been playing a lot more and observing this painful flaw in the rendering more, there are a few things I have noticed. That it flickers in the feed when filling a wagon, as well as flickering the patches of field. In one large field I noticed that it would flick...

Re: A couple of bugs for feedback purposes

Thanks for the feedback. No on the ground response mod. Is that the one that makes the tractor move more over rough terrain? I was using the Fliegal Timber Runner. If it has ground braces, I wasn't aware of it. That, so far, is the only physics stability issue I've run into. I haven't done any timbe...

Re: Simulation games focus to much on realism

Barons, I think we're saying a lot of the same things but in different semantics and from a different viewpoint. I might be wrong about that, because I'm not clear on the meaning you're placing in the term "game mechanics." To me, running an animal husbandry farm where birth rate is averag...

Re: Simulation games focus to much on realism

Well said, Case1370. We agree on a lot. I'd like to see an all seasons FS, too. Instead of 3 day crops, make the Fast/Normal/Slow be 20/40/80 days from seed to harvest. Then allow a "skip days to next crop event" selection, along with the more granular "skip to next sunrise." Ano...

Re: Simulation games focus to much on realism

All very good points. I really don't see game mechanics/simulation as an either/or problem, though. It's more of a how to set the scene for the player to write his or her own story, problem. In FS17, there are compromises to the simulation by inserting game mechanics that stitch the illusion by tyin...

ABOUT THE FLICKERING issue as reported by someone else on this thread. iMac 27" Late 2013, 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7, 12 GB RAM, NVIDIA, GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB, macOS Sierra Flickering happens when trying to modify fields. Either plowing, harvesting or whatever, but especially harvesting. Oddly, ...

Re: Map colors for ready to harvest

Thanks canadafarms. That's what I need to know. I had been waiting for it to get to the darkest orange, but I noticed that the game AI for the other farmers were ready to harvest on yellow.

Appreciate the help!

Map colors for ready to harvest

There are 3 levels to ready to harvest indicated by yellow, orange and something in between. Does anyone know if the yield is still increasing, or is it the same throughout the range?

Re: AGCO equipment

Yeah, we can't know what their license agreement is. They simply wont tell us. But the money can flow either way. Perhaps Giants got a sweet deal in the beginning by demonstrating their product to execs, and had to pay very little. Perhaps they didn't get a great deal and had to pony up. (I doubt it...

Re: Washing vehicles. The cake is a lie

In every design of every product there are compromises. Probably because the game treats the device being washed as a single object is the reason for the single effect of washing. The compromise here was more than likely one of effort vs reward. Too much of one, and not enough of the other. So, use ...
