Feeding sheep is as easy as putting all those grass clippings in the trough for them, but after it has been teddered and windrowed. Just pick it up in a forage trailer, then dump it in the trough. Much easier than working with cows.

I have found that placing them on uneven ground just will make the footing larger on one side, just as in real life. You may not be able to place them within a certain distance of another object. Buildings can be put in a field when it has been planted with grass, but not sure about it when it's not...

I have found several modded maps where the sheep pen, cattle pen, along with other major buildings are closer to the main farm house. Check out Ls-planet.com. Most mod sites will have several different maps available.
