to use steam version you must purchase through steam you said you purchased the disk version from your game shop .. 2 keys included is probably 1 for the FS 15 and other is for the Gold Edition .. you will need to install from the disk and use the keys provided .. you will need to check them careful...

ok is your log.txt file showing any errors still check your options menu goto mods see if your mods is showing there .. if they are then they should be in the game under the category if listed correctly .. if not then at the top where says mods click to mods brand and see if listed there if your mod...

your welcome as for category value in your modDesc.xml you should have a line <category>mod type</category> this is new to FS 15 in FS 2013 it was machineType Ford Truck would have category cars or misc depending where you want them here is the full list of categories for FS 15 .. you can find this ...

I will try to help a little with this 1st you will need to look in your log.txt file its in folder with the mods folder .. this type of issue is usually gonna report some of the issues with those mods moddesc with the new patch is at least 21 you will need updated shader files .. changing the number...

actually all paid DLC's come in a DLC format and therefore not editable and in this game there was an instance where Giants did release parts of a DLC to mod in a Prior DLC - if I recall correctly was the ITrunner where they released some info on making mods to work with the DLC but didn't actually ...
