remove tops, is an extra step required when harvesting potatoes and sugar beets. if you cannot afford the, almost 500,000 dollar self propelled harvesters for them, youll have to buy a topper, it cuts the tops off these fields, prior to harvesting them .

hit escape, on the bottom left is a button that says , save game, next to it is one that says abort game, this is used to exit. i know its weird it says abort, instead of exit, but the designers are swiss, so to them abort/exit must mean the same thing.

grass in the feeders at the cow pen, produce liquid manure. if you have and use a slurry tank, this is good. also placing straw there, will start them producing manure(regular), this is usable with the fertilizer spreaders. if you never plan to use these 2 items, then i see no reason to place either...

I have to question this bit of info. I went into my game to verify, but I couldn't dump my forage trailer anywhere near the cow field if it was filled with straw. I had 26k straw in mine, and I never got the dump icon or ability to do so. If this is accurate, could you post a screenshot? I'd love t...

sorry, the only thing i can answer is straw use, other than what youve found, you can also place it in the feeder at the cow pen, on the side by the liquid fertilizer pit, to start them producing manure also.
