Hallo Community,
- I) Giants Editor: Import von FBX-Dateien
UVs
Was ist Skinning?
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinning

Hi community,
for the upcoming version of the farming simulator we are again planning to publish tutorials.
There will be some updated content from the current tutorials as well we will discuss new topics and that's where your opinion is demanded!
We would like to know from you, what topics are off most interest to you and that's why we started this poll.
We have listed some topics, which could be of interest for you:
- I) Giants Editor: Importing fbx files
The new version of the GIANTS editor supports importing fbx files.
In this tutorial we would show you how the import works in detail and what should be taken care of.
- II) Autodesk Maya: Creating textures respectively UVs
The creation of nice textures and the corresponding UVs needs lots of training and knowledge for reaching really pleasant and efficient results,
so we are unable to show you the whole bandwidth of necessary informations and methods.
Nevertheless we would show you the basics of creating UVs in this tutorial.
- III) I3D-Exporter for Autodesk Maya: Creating Animations
Meanwhile a lot of animations can be done by using the vehicle.xml,
but complex animations might be easier to create in Maya.
So, in this tutorial we would show you how to create an animation in maya and export it to a i3d file.
An example could be the tipping of a trailer.
- III) I3D-Exporter for Autodesk Maya: Skinning
What is skinning?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeletal_animation
Skinning allows to deform objects.
An example are the tube on the slephose of the liquid manure sprayer Kotte Garant VTL 19500.
Here the tube are deformed by the skinning during the folding/unfolding process in such a way,
that they represent the real/physical deformation of the hoses in the best possible manner.
- V) I3D-Exporter for Blender:
How much interest exists for this topic?
Do you want to know how to install and use the new exporter for blender?
If so, vote for this tutorial.
- VI) UserAttributes:
In this tutorial we would show you, how to create user attributes and what is to be taken care of.
User attributes are for example used to give functionalities to objects/buildings.
The biogas plant, TipTrigger (necessary for tipping at selling points) and SiloTrigger (necessary for tipping at the farm) are common examples for this topic.
- VII) Creating traffic (cars and people)
This tutorial is about creating and modifying splines, the paths on which the cars and the people run.
It would also cover editing xml files, becasue this is necessary for a valid and adjusted traffic system.
